BIOGRAPHY
Martin Drechsel is a German & Swiss industrial designer.
Extensive experience & a global mindset come from living & working with industrial design consultancies as well as furniture design studios in London, Zurich, Berlin, Dresden, Milan, Florence & Amsterdam.
Studies at arts, technology & business oriented universities created a solid & diverse foundation – combining artistic freedom with solid scientific-technical methods.
Growing up in the former GDR at first and later in a reunited Germany helped understanding cultural implications of opposite economic systems.
Engineer parents dealing with material lack may have initiated a practical inventiveness, frugal thinking & pursuit of longevity which are equally valuable today for creating functional, durable & sustainable products.
