From January the 29th to March the 1st, EMU takes part to a special project on the occasion of the Madrid Design Festival, the event conceived and created by La Fábrica and directed by Álvaro Matías, which turns Madrid into the Capital of Design. We’re talking about the Monographic Exhibition ‘Nature Morte Vivante’, dedicated to Patricia Urquiola. Among her works, the Re-trouvé collection, realized by the designer for EMU. The fair is hosted in the Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa, in Plaza Colón in Madrid and tells about the projects and collaborations that have defined Patricia Urquiola‘s professional path and her creative approach to research, materials, technologies as well as its links with the most important brands in the design world.
Filippo Poponesi, the first Italian to cross the finishing line of the Arrowhead135, one of the most extreme and difficult races in the world: 217 km amid snow and freezing cold, with temperatures down to -30° at night, under which runners must tow a sled with all the necessary equipment to complete the path in total self-sufficiency. Resisting the adverse weather conditions and the flow of time: a real endurance test, an ambitious project in line with the challenges that EMU has always faced, guaranteeing their products’ durability, strictly subjected to procedures that guarantee high quality standards.
Telling the Italian Design: this is the concept behind the creation of Costa Smeralda, the new flagship of Costa Crociere, a project in which EMU was involved as one of the leading companies in “Made in Italy furniture”. Costa Smeralda is, in fact, the first ship to be fueled with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), the cleanest fossil fuel in the world, a responsible innovation which is a value shared with EMU. The entire ship was designed taking inspiration from Italy, a real Tour in the Bel Paese. EMU furnishes with Holly the deck, one of the most delicate and demanding areas for the outdoor sector, the area most exposed to different climatic and atmospheric conditions. An important task for EMU, to which the company responds with a know-how developed over 70 years of manufacturing experience that guarantees the durability of the products and high quality standards.
Also this year EMU will be present at the events of IMM in Cologne and M&O in Paris with its Novelties for 2020, young and functional design solutions, which arise from an increasingly future-oriented business approach. Result of a responsible and sustainable production, with low ecological impact, the New Entries for 2020 are versatile, furnishings that definitively eliminate the boundaries between inside and outside, with bright colors and far from monochromaticity.
